Soapstone Hard Water Deposits Removed

The Challenge

Soapstone is an excellent countertop material because it resists stains, heat damage, and acidic substances. However, it is not impervious to damage, as you can tell by looking at the BEFORE image of this countertop. The Atlanta, GA homeowners noticed some etching, here and there, but their main concerns were the hard water deposits, scratches, and overall dull-looking appearance of their formerly striking soapstone countertops.

We have a strong reputation throughout the Buckhead, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody area, so the homeowners gave us a call to request a FREE estimate and then scheduled services.

Our Solution

First, we honed the soapstone to remove a very thin layer of the surface, virtually erasing any damage. Then we polished the soapstone and applied mineral oil to restore the deep, rich, dark color. The homeowners were completely satisfied with the results. Notice how refinishing these soapstone countertops really accentuated the beautiful white cabinets and subway tile backsplash in the AFTER image.
